trips - Devils Path Dayhike with AvengeanceTrip Info
Description same deal as last year. Get a tent site or two depending on the group size at Devil Tombstone Campground which is the halfway point of the trail. Camp there friday night, get up early Saturday (really early - we should be hiking by 6am) and attempt to dayhike the entire trail. Saturday night camp at Tombstone Campground again. Backpacker mag listed the Devils Path as the hardest dayhike in the east. It's a 26 mile buttkicker with steep ups and steep downs. It'll have your knees rattling just looking at the climbs and descents. A bunch of us attempted this last year and only three of us succeeded (Pennsy, MFparker and Pepsi), the rest of us stopped at the halfway point. This is the revenge, a chance to go back and do the entire trail again. Sunday morning, we will go to Kaaterskill Falls for a small dayhike.
