trips - Backpacking in the BWCATrip Info
DescriptionSnowbank/Disapointment Trail Itinerary: The following is a Tenative schedule, depending on conditions there are several options to shorten the trip. I tend to plan more than a group can handle, so the options are wide open. Thursday April 4th: ~ 8 miles Trailhead at 10:00 am, Hit the trail soon afterwards. Campsite on North end of Snowbank Lake Friday: ~10 miles Campsite on Alworth Lake Saturday: ~10 miles Campsite on Becoosin Lake Sunday: ~5 mile hike out Remember the rules and regulations of the BWCAW - No cans/glass bottles that aren't reusable. Group limit is 9, though it would be very tough to find 9 suitable tent sites, just keep that in mind. Weather this time of year in the area (always seems to be a concern) should be fairly mild, highs around 55, and lows around 35. Hopefully most of the snow will be gone, if not it might make it more interesting. Expect the trails in this area to be quite rugged and we will plan to cover 8-10 miles a day. I will provide more information as the time comes.
