trips - Farewell to Yam on the Cumberland TrailTrip Info
DescriptionSince Yam is leaving Tennessee for the great state of Maine, we need to celebrate the last month she will be here where else but on a backpacking trip! This section of the CT is along the Piney River, just outside of Spring City, TN. It is no buttkicker, as the trail length is only 10 miles, but is a beautiful section of the Cumberland Plataeu. We will camp at Spiders Den, which is about 6 miles from the trailhead, and hike out the last 4 on Sunday. We will need to shuttle cars on Saturday morning. We will meet at the East Piney River Trail Picnic area Trailhead at 10:00 AM EST on Saturday to shuttle cars.
