trips - Black Forest Trail - Labor Day weekendTrip Info
Descriptiondo the entire trail over Labor Day weekend. The loop is 43 miles long. Long days and lots of mileage and elevation gain. ok, using Pennsy's map, since I can't find mine. Here is what I think looks like a pretty good plan. Day 1, Friday night : hike 1 mile in counter clockwise from the south Rt 44 trailhead. (should be decent parking lot). Camp just before mile marker 25. Looks like there is water there. Day 2, Saturday : hike 14 miles and camp at near mile marker 39. There is water and nearby views. Day 3, Sunday : hike 18 miles and camp near mile marker 15. Water and nearby road access to Rt 44. (there are cut off trails to make this day shorter) Day 4, Monday : hike 10 miles and complete loop at Rt 44. There should be a few good restaurants in that area where we can grub before we all split. Once I find my map, I will post more specific info about the campsites? Are the miles marked on the trail like they are on the Loyalsock Trail? Anyone know? If so, Pennsy may tell his life story. here is the map for the BFT: http://community.webshots.com/photo/122379718/259816469fGkqzs - curtesy of Pennsy
