Description Monday, December 26th: Meet at Cades Cove sometime that afternoon or evening. Move shuttle vehicle to (Forge Creek Road) pickup point. Make warm campfire, and “carb up” for next day. Tuesday, December 27th: Hike Anthony Creek trail to Spence Field. Dayhike up to Rocky Top if feeling froggy. Overnight at Spence Field Shelter. Wednesday, December 28th: Hike Appalachian Trail past Russell Field to Mollies Ridge. Overnight at Mollies Ridge Shelter. Thursday, December 29th: Hike Appalachian Trail to Moore Springs. Secure special permit, and overnight at Moore Springs. Friday, December 30th: Hike Gregory Ridge Trail out to shuttle vehicle (Forge Creek Road) pickup point. (Early bailout at Russell Field if conditions are overwhelming to participants.) Dates/route are tentative, and subject to change as the group discusses options.
