DescriptionUPDATE -- August 16 A few things have changed since I wrote what is below. All of it is in the threads, however I wanted it to be in one central location and not spread out over multiple threads. Start time on Saturday will be 9AM E.S.T. If you think you will be late let me know. We will shuttle a car up to the forest headquarters parking area then start. Camp will be near Arch Springs on Saturday (14.4 miles) If you need to get in touch with me on the road, don't hesitate to call. 219-688-0799 ------------------------------------------------ I will be driving east on the Friday before and plan to settle for the evening at Parker Dam State Park. Anyone interested in joining me, you are welcome. Hike will start at either 8 or 9AM E.S.T on Saturday and we will meet at the Wykoff parking area. Plan is to hike Big Spring Draft (Blue Blazes) east to the Quehanna Trail (Orange Blazes). Hike to Arch Spring and camp somewhere close by for the night. Milage for Saturday could top out at 20 miles. I made this hike about 3 years ago and I have to say it is my favorite so far of all the places I have been. The trail is flat until we connect to the Quehanna trail. We have some steady downhills and an uphill section that will make flatlanders pee in their pants! Sunday we have several options we can take to get pack to the parking area.
