Looking for People With Raynaud\'s Phenomenon
Very little information is known about how high altitude affects people with Raynaud’s phenomenon and whether they experience more frequent and/or more severe attacks when traveling at high elevations.

We are conducting a research study on the effects of high altitude on people with Raynaud’s phenomenon. If you have Raynaud’s Phenomenon and would be interested in participating in a short, anonymous on-line survey about this issue please contact Andrew Luks at [email protected] or by phone at 206-221-2814. You will then receive further information about the study and a link to the on-line survey. Please be aware that the confidentiality of emails cannot be guaranteed.

This is a University of Washington research project and the forum administrators have granted permission to put this post on this website.

How the heck did you reach those guys? We can't seem to get anyone's attention around here.

By the way, some of us already believe we are subjects of someone's study.

I had this problem when I was using meth. It's nice to be clean.

Reynaud's syndrome is not restricted to meth users. My wife has it.

I'm being studied by extraterestrials. I have a tracking device inmplanted in my nose that not only tracks my location, but it also keeps track of body heat, blood alcohol levels, and anything else they like to know. I was implanted when I stayed one night in a seedy hotel in the town of Pahrump, NV. Which, if you are in the Know, is very close to the infamous Area 51.

But Reynaud's syndrome? Nope, don't have that so I guess I can't help you. I don't even know what it is.

My wife has it. That's why she doesn't like winter hiking. Her fingers lose all feeling and turn completely white in the cold, and it does not have to be really cold, sometimes 40-50 degrees. Here is a link that gives a little info on it.

My Mom has it and I wouldn't be surprised if I did too.

I had a slight case of it when I smoked. Quit and got my circulation better under control. I still have cold hands and feet most of the time.

i have a good friend that suffers from it but he calls it "raynauds syndrome" not "raynauds phenomenon". i guess there is an issue regarding terminology in that a "syndrome" is related to one type of health issue as opposed to a "phenomenon" that is something else entirely. his wife explained it to me in great detail. anyway, the guys fingers turn blue like he is freezing even when he is in a room that is warm. it's strange but a terrible problem for him as he is a cop and has to work outdoors.

...basically what happens (as i understand it) is that the nervous system mistakenly triggers a cutoff of bloodflow to extremities just as if you were exposed to cold and the body wanted to restrict bloodflow to the core to prevent hypothermia.
