I'll talk to her about it. I think that those were good threads and of great value to the site.

Hey Fridge. I had to get off the trail due to severe foot and heal pain. I am in Franklin right now. Not sure if I can make the McAfee Knob trip.

I really hate not being in the mountains right now. In fact, I am really ticked off. I was having a great time. The weather has been perfect, and the people I have met have been very nice.

CD - how was Roots doing? Say hi to Ron Haven for me. Any idea what caused your foot pain?

Hey HOI. I haven't met Roots. Baltimore Jack and I have been leap frogging for a couple of days. I met a bunch of Whiteblazers too! Many were very disappointed to find out that Sgt. Rock had to get off the trail. Sheesh, I feel like crap about leaving after 4 days. I can only imagine how he feels. I only had 3 days left, but I was looking forward to the time.

The boots I bought 8 years ago bit the dust, so I had to replace them with new ones. I put some miles on them before this trip, but I now think not enough. I know the trail will still be there and all...but damn.

I will say hi to Ron for you. He's the best!

'Lost' by David Wagoner

Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you Are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here, And you must treat it as a powerful stranger, Must ask permission to know it and be known.

The forest breathes. Listen. It answers, I have made this place around you. If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here. No two trees are the same to Raven. No two branches are the same to Wren. If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you, You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows Where you are. You must let it find you.

sorry CD I was leaping to an assumption and given the timing I was guessing you might have seen Roots or possibly been in the same group
