Which is a good trail to do for a newbie backpacke
Hello everyone! My husband and I love hiking and are moving to Washington state and want to go backpack camping at Mt. Rainier. This is our first time at Mt. Rainier, anyone have any suggestions for which trail to do for newbie backpack camping? There are so many trails we aren't sure where to begin and haven't found any solid reviews on what is good to do for beginners. Thanks much!

How many days of hiking are you considering?

What time of the year will you be here? Snow of course plays into what you can do. As well, do you prefer up high alpine? Meadows? Trees? Rivers? Lakes? Many choices....

If you're going in the next few days, take a few warmer layers with you.

The Northern Loop out of Sunrise. I camped at Lake Elenor night 1, Yellowstone Cliffs night 2, Mystic night 3.

Mystic Campground was a tent city - the places off the Wonderland Trail were quieter.

That's the only backpack I've done in the park, but it was great and would be o.k. for a newbie.
