no actually it's a long story but the short version is that I was basically carring 2/3 of the food and cook ware for a 10 person crews week of work in the backcountry.

Spend the extra money, no one has ever said, I'm glad I bought the cheap one during a storm in the back country.

shut up jerk...

all right so which one of these would you guys recomend the kelty: http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/outlet/KEL0315/Kelty-Crestone-2-Tent-2-Person-3-Season.html
or the big agnes: http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/outlet/BAG0157/Big-Agnes-Elkhorn-2-Person-Tent-w-Footprint.html
I think I'm leaning a bit more towards the big agnes right now but I like the kelty too what do ya'll think about these? does anyone have any experience with either? which brand is or has been the most reliable for you?

My pack in alaska set up for 9 days rations using a 7000 cu inch Granite gear pack ....total weight was 72 lbs and I too too much gear......I now have my 09 Alaska pack weight at 52 lbs and will continue to drop weight. So when you say 80 lbs....I would ask myself do I have cheap gear that can weight more than some gear that may cost more , but will be much lighter , second...do i really need this gear...and third.....experience....PERIOD

I like the Kelty. For the light weight and from what I've heard about the brand. I much prefer the Kelty structure as well; for my money, that shape makes more sense in the elements. You've got good prices and it sounds like you're doing good research and making an informed decision. You'll get the right one for yourself. Good luck, friend.

thank you steep and cheap the big agnes was just on there for 60% off instead of the 40% off I would have paid on backcountry.com, and I was gonna buy the cheaper kelty because it was cheaper even though this was the one I wanted so yaaaaay and thank you steep and cheap!!
