Transportation “For spring break (March10th-19th) I will be hiking from Dalton, Mass to Vermont. I am looking for a spot in Vermont where I can get off the trail and take a public transportation back to my school (Norwich University) in Northfield. Does anyone know of a good stopping place or where I could find some transportation?” 6:30:23 PM 3/06/12 “looks like from Bennington you can use GME to connect to Berkshire Transit or Peter Pan bus lines at Williamstown - see http://www.greenmtncn.org/regional.html” 6:51:23 PM 3/06/12 “I don't know what bus lines go to Northfield, but you can get good regional buses from Manchester VT, and from Rutland - both of which are easy hitches from the LT (there is actually a bus that stops at the Long Trail Inn, a mile off the trail). Your could also get a bus from the Hanover/Norwich area or hitch to White River Junction - but few of us would get that far during Spring break. Check out: http://www.thebus.com/ for bus service to Manchester and Rutland (connections to Bristol - I'm not sure about anything closer to Northfield).” 2:24:51 PM 3/07/12
