Otter Creek Plan
From parking area on Rt 72 3 miles from Rt 219 past Hambleton and Hendricks and 11 miles from Rt 32 the Otter Creek Trail goes down to the Dry Fork River and across a swinging bridge. About two miles up creek is a wide crossing to Big Springs Gap and Turkey Run Trail to Moore Run Trail. Moore Run Bog is something to see and Moore Run Trail takes us back to Otter Creek and another crossing that is much narrower. Just down creek from that crossing is a HUGE swimmin hole.

Possession Camp Trail take us up a long reasonable grade to Green Mountain and Possession Camp Site. From there it is about 6 miles back to the parking area by way of Green Mountain Trail to Otter Creek Trail and back across Dry Fork River.

Otter Creek trail is virtually impossible to hike. Hundreds of blow downs, and some parts of the trail was not there. Sandy has taken her toll in West Virginia. Next weekend taking to Cranberry Glades and Dolly Sods the following weekend.
Locals at Parsons WV as well as the Cheat Ranger station said 3 feet of snow in the Mountains and a foot in the towns.

Tops of most trees had been broken off as hundreds of trees are down all across the entire trail system. Looks like a war zone. Most of the trails if you never been there would not register as a trail to most folks.

2013 could be a very big volunteer year to reclaim the trails in WV.
