“City trash truck backed into my Trooper and totalled it...the ambulance seemed like the best value at the time. I hope to make the ultimate camping vehicle out of it. Ford 350 dually chassis, 10' box with lots of exterior cabinets. Goldwing fits in the back.. Hope I can get it up the hill!”

“Oh heyull camp, how much 'at amby run you? I ask nosily 'cauz a lil before Halloween we picked up a shweeeet hearse, old-school, for 2g's. Love that sucker! It's a '92 Caddy, got the hauce 402 8cyl under that huge black hood, 67k miles, just got a new AC unit and brand spankin' new sweet, spoked rims and tires all the way 'roun. We put some bodies on it for our Halloween downtown trunk-r-treat! Got a wreath on the front of it now, with blinking xmas lights in the windows.

It rides like a Caddy too. I just gotta get used to everyone being super nice and letting me out first, lol.

Camp do the lights still work? That's pretty cool.

Oh, the AC and new tires/rims, the mortuary guy did a little BEFORE we bought it! He shudda sold it for 4 or 5 grand, for sure. I'm not an engine guy, but my wife's brother seriously got off on the engine, I think he said something like it's the big block 402, and that it was the largest engine ever made for noncommercial use. A'course it don't get the best gas mileage, hehe. I'm guessing about 10 mpg or so. The dang thang does have a 30 gallon tank tho! Oh it's a bill er 2 filling that sucker up!

For Sunday I have my eye on the east rim ...Table Rock (2.2 mi. round trip) ...claimed to be one of the best hikes in the Southeastern USA. Two years ago I did the short jaunt up nearby Hawksbill (1.5 mi. round trip) --excellent views! ...maybe we could include it as well?”

“I've done both of them but my daughter hasn't.. weather is supposed to be very clear so the peaks would be good. She won't slow us down. ;)”

The forecast was actually calling for snow on Thursday night, but they aren't anymore. ..still calling for bright sunshine and mild temps for the whole weekend! Can't wait!”

“Not bad right now..should be good Fri ..just take it easy as always”

“The ski resort says snow late Thursday and most of fri with 4to 8in ending at midnight Fri.should be awesome”

“Winter storm forecast for Thursday. They called for this a couple of days ago and then yesterday it was ok, now they say up to 8" in the high elevations.

How far past the old spot is the new campsite by Babel tower?”

“Its down past wiseman view right across from table rock..probably the best site in the gorge.so about 3 mi further in..most anything can get in right now.the wash board part right before babel sucks..plenty of 4x4s to shuttle.ill be around thurs and fri but gotta work Saturday”

There will be some blocking due snow drifting. Best to follow a county snow plow! Better yet I suggest staying in a motel. LOL.
