Pinhoti Trail

“I'm headed to the Pinhoti Trail January 14th to 19th. I'm planning a SOBO hike 48 trail miles from Hwy 278 to Interstate 20.
This will be my 4th section hike of the Pinhoti. I'm considering extending the hike 13 miles and one more day to hike the new section that takes you to the Al-GA state line.
My next trip up will be the Benton-McKay which leads to the AT.

“Hey Chili, I'm looking at doing 10 to 12 miles a day. Four or Five night's depending on conditions. Two of those nights will be at or near National forest campgrounds and provide a safe place to park. The sourthern start\end point is the Ranger station just north of I-20 on FS Road 500. That's where I intend to park and hike south from hwy 278 towards my vehicle. You are welcome to all or part of the hike. Thanks for the inquiry and have a great New Years!”
