“Time to brag. What have you got? Me? Oh, just 14 so far.” 8:00:22 PM 5/07/13 “Almost 1.” 5:43:47 AM 5/08/13 “toejam...you suck” 7:42:11 AM 5/08/13 “ya got me beat toejam but only by 1” 7:54:11 AM 5/08/13 “Minus 10. I doubt I will make it to zero by the end of the year.” 9:54:23 AM 5/08/13 “Seven, two of them in the "lance" last weekend..but still, in a hammock.” 5:36:26 PM 5/08/13 “6” 5:58:51 AM 5/12/13 “Jan - 2 Feb - 3 Mar - 1 Apr - 4 May - 2 So I am at 12 but probably won't get anymore until June.” 5:07:15 PM 5/12/13 “You always end up with more than me, sandyann.” 5:19:00 AM 5/13/13 “0 - but got 19 nights planned for June and July.” 8:32:37 AM 5/13/13 “I don't believe all this. This year you're required to show proof!” 10:25:10 AM 5/13/13 “12 of mine were volunteering with the forest service and two were on Mt. Whitney. Got 4 more volunteering planned for Memorial Day. It's for the benefit of the planet.” 10:33:57 AM 5/13/13 “I can honestly say that only two were volunteer bag nights wit V-O Cal. The rest were selfishly mine. Nowslimmer living in CA makes it easy to BP year round. Too many options.” 11:43:56 AM 5/13/13 “Does passing out on the street and spending the night face down on the doormat count?” 11:49:02 AM 5/13/13 “not but it sounds like an interesting story got another bag night last night - testing a new bag and a new sleep system - the bag was the Nunatak Raku - love it - the sleep system is to use a double layer A Simple Sling chair in a very reclined setup and to put my feet up on my pack - it worked OK but like any major change in gear it is going to take some getting used to it. Only real issue was the pads I put between the two layers for insulation - they were a PIA to pack since they were CCF (a wally world blue pad cut in half and corner trimmed) - I will probably have to go to a down insulated version to get the packability I want. It was however a success since I estimate I saved about 2 pounds of packweight with the new system.” 5:54:22 AM 5/14/13 “"Does passing out on the street and spending the night face down on the doormat count?" Euro Hike Only if you have a sleeping bag with you.” 6:21:38 AM 5/14/13 “sandyann - I have lived in Granada Hills, which is part of LA. My work was split between Valancia and Burbank. Most of my time was spent either driving through the mountains or in Ensanada. Later years, when I took turns working on a radar, tracking ship, I spent some time at Oxnard, from where we would sail around the Catalina Islands while testing some new equipment. I have been Mountain backpacking in GSMNP during every month except February, This included hiking in the snow and cold. On a New Years Eve I hiked up Mt. leCount, which is the second highest mountain in the park. An ice covering on part of the trail forced me to slide uphill on my bottom. That night we slept in zero degree temperature and under chilling, high winds.” 7:09:26 AM 5/14/13 “Nowslimmer - I grew up in Southern CA and spent most of my childhood up in the San Bernardino mountains sleeping under the stars. I love to hear that there are others willing to sleep in extreme conditions.” 7:36:18 AM 5/14/13 “8” 5:38:38 PM 6/11/13 “14 as of Sunday” 10:07:44 PM 6/11/13 “18 More to come this weekend. I do count car camping.” 12:28:47 PM 6/12/13 “Does camping out in a hospital room count?” 12:40:18 PM 6/12/13 “All the way up to: 1.” 2:03:35 PM 6/12/13 “One, but many more on the way” 3:49:42 PM 6/12/13 “Thanks to John Muir I now have 26 nights.” 7:22:10 AM 7/23/13 “I wish I could get that many....seems bag nights keep getting smaller each yr” 8:18:04 AM 7/23/13 “If hotel nights counted, I would have a respectable number. I think I have been on the road more than I have been home lately.” 11:35:53 AM 7/23/13
