On the AT, doing a section, I was using duct tape and moleskin on a blister and this guy started going on about how great leukotape was. I found the stuff on Amazon - but see mixed reviews. Can anybody tell me anything about the stuff?

never heard of it - my blister treatment is a needle and cotton thread - drains overnight and is good to go in the morning

leukotape
In my experience leukotape is an excellent addition to a first aid kit and better for blister prevention than duct tape.

Duct tape is non porous so peels off my feet after a few minutes of hiking. Leukotape being fabric breathes and stays in place for days on end.

Also, since the adhesive is quite robust thin strips work well for wound closure, holding gauge in place, and should you run out a tab of gauze or cotton and you can fashion a band-aid.

I agree about duct tape but my solution was to use cheap athletic tape from wally world - it also is perforated to let the sweat out

Interesting topic as I look to update my first aid kit.

Is leukotape better than athletic tape? I assume athletic tape (at least tape I've used) wouldn't work well for wound closure.

if concerned about wound _closure_ take a small tube of superglue

as a "bandaid" I would fold a bit of toilet paper into a mini pad and use the athletic tape to hold it on the wound
