I plan to thruhike the Appalachian Trail in 2010. I'll be leaving from Springer in mid March. I have been looking at march 21st but I may leave a week or two early to make sure I am back for my son's birthday on September 12.

bingo. anyone in moderate shape with the want-to, time, and resources can do it. staying injury, giardia, and lyme disease free is the trick

I may lol. But I am looking at other options. I have to keep everything low cost though. Everything I do these days I compare it to how many hostel nights and AYCE that money could buy. So I want be doing too many visits to the movie theaters and the like for a while.

Just rolled in home and saw your thread. Good idea and good thinking. How's that new behavior grab ya?

I know I'll see you out there. If you can't catch me, you're a couple steps slower than a corpse.

Great news.
