“I saw the Corpse Bride. Yahoo.com movies site gave it good reviews, and it was good, but I don't think it was worth more than a matinee price which are pretty high these days.

I'm waiting to see A History of Violence which is just being released with Viggio Mortensen. Jody Foster's Flightplan got mixed reviews.”

I do like Viggo, I've only seen him in a few of his movies--A Walk on the Moon, G.I. Jane, Hidalgo, Lord Of the Rings....

He seems to pick some very eclectic roles-- all over the range of emotions...”

Mayor of the Sunset Strip - About a weird little guy named Rodney Bingenheimer... who is apparently the world's biggest celeb groupie-- and totally connected in the world of music and actors/actresses... Never heard of him here in the Midwest, but apparently he is well known on the West Coast. Lots of interesting interviews with all sorts of celebs! From Bowie to Nancy Sinatra, to Brooke Shields and Gwen Stefani...

Lost in Translation--This was different. I didn't realize until about 2/3 of the way through the movie that the girl in the movie is the same one that was in "Girl with a Pearl Earring"... She probably has just about as much dialogue in this movie as in the other... Most of the movie had more to do with body language and inneuendos than actual dialogue. We had rented it twice before but never got to watch it. Luckily, this time we got it from the Library for FREE....

DeLovely - About Cole Porter. I was surprised at the number of showtunes and songs that I recognized... didn't realize how much of his music was around. Never knew much about the guy, but seems he led a "risque" life back in the day.... It started a little bit haphazardly (they kept flipping back and forth between "flashbacks" and "reality", but after it got going it made more sense...

We started watching The Aviator, but are only about 1/2 way through the film-- The only comment I can make so far is that Leonardo Di Caprio must be making a lot of wrinkles for himself with this film-- I swear that he has his brow furrowed for about 75% of the shots!... We'll see how we like it once we get to the end....”

“I saw a preview of "Ice Harvest" with John Cusack and Billy Bob Thorton. It was funny, and maybe slow in some points but short at the same time. It was pretty good, but not great by any means.

Funny, but not funny, my husband and I agree on a movie we both want to see and it's "Derailed". He reads the write up and it has Claude Van Dam in it, so I'm saying, "WTF"????

There seems to be two "Derailed" movies. The other one was with Jennifer Aniston. We ended up not seeing either one.”

“I saw A History of Violence, again another 1-1/2 hour movie, I believe. It seems to be a trend in Hollywood.

It was good, not great. I expected more from it, more intrigue and there really wasn't any. The premise was good if they did more with it. I'd say to see it as a matinee. R rated matinees are good because they keep the kids out when they go to see movies early in the day most times.”

“I went and saw Rent yestarday. What an awesome movie! I've never been to see the play but love the music. It was nice to see the whole story along with the music. My wife has seen the play and she said the movie was true to the play.
